Secondary Physics & STEAM
Dickson was born and raised in Hong Kong. He graduated with a BSc in physics and an MSc in meteorology from Durham University and the University of Reading. His first experience with STEAM began as an administrator of his secondary school's robotics club, where he was selected to compete in the Science Olympics. After graduating high school, he lived in the UK for eightyears. During his undergraduate years, he had several opportunities to visit places like weatherforecasting centre, nuclear power plant, particle accelerator and air show in Europe, where hemet people within different STEAM industries. He had previously worked as a voluntary teacher, acomputational scientist, a drone pilot, an aerial photographer and a STEAM teacher. He also holds a Cambridge TKT-CLIL teaching certificate, a STEAM educator certificate and a programming teacher certificate. He is also a CAAC-certified drone pilot.
Dickson believes that different branches of science are closely related, and STEAM provides a perfect platform for the students to solve problems by integrating knowledge. He also wishes to combine his experiences to inspire students in future STEAM careers. As someone who is always curious about the world, Dickson's biggest interest is to learn. His learning is not limited toreading; he also enjoys watching documentaries and visiting museums. He hopes that a desire for knowledge could influence his students and encourage them not to be afraid of asking questions. He is an enthusiast of classical music, cycling and food.
